The Research Group

The Research Group, initially called Max Planck Partner Group for Relativistic Astrophysics, was created in June 2010. In the period from 2010 to 2015, the group was funded by the Max Planck Society in Germany as a partner group connected to the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute - AEI) in Potsdam, Germany.

The main goals of this initiative were to help establishing the research group at UFABC and to incentivate the cooperation between the researchers from the group and from the AEI, with scientific colaboration, research stays and international workshops.

From 2016 to 2018 the group is participating in an international collaboration with the University of Maryland, in the United States, co-funded by the FAPESP SPRINT call (3/2015).

The main research interests of the group are gravitational wave emissions from compact objects, black hole quasinormal modes and neutron star oscillations.
